BizStarts Venture Track Company News: NexVex Launches; Speech Tails featured in WisBusiness
NexVex Inc., the online marketplace for roof replacements and contractor sourcing, announced it has received its first round of financing from angel investors in the M7 region and is now officially open for business!
Founder Will Bazeley describes NexVex as “Amazon.com for roofs.” They decided to locate the company in the Milwaukee region in part because of the support system offered to entrepreneurs through BizStarts Milwaukee.
“BizStarts provided mentors and expert guidance with shaping up our business plan, as well as connections to investors” he said.
NexVex will initially employ four professionals and expects to add employees as it adds markets.
Meanwhile, Patrick Walters, CEO of Speech Tails, was interviewed in a recent episode of “WisBusiness: The Show.” Liz Schrum discusses Speechtails’ role in providing pathways to speech therapy for children. Farewell to Fred as he heads for Florida
Fred Brooks, BizStarts’ own “Entrepreneur In Residence” during the past two years, is off to retire and perfect his golf game in Florida (apparently, he saw next week’s forecast for us.) Fred’s work with BizStarts and the over 200 entrepreneurs he has talked and met with, coached, encouraged and mentored is greatly appreciated; he’s made a big difference for a lot of people. From all of us at BizStarts, thank you Fred, for sharing your skills and wisdom with so many!
