A mentor works somewhat closely with an entrepreneur in either the start-up or scale-up phase, giving advice on a variety of topics and generally helping entrepreneurs navigate the pathway to a successful launch or growth process. Our mentor relationships are unique in that they are skill specific. Upon completing the application process, you will be introduced by email to an entrepreneur that seeks to develop the key skills or abilities that you specialize in as identified in your assessment. It is a requirement of the program that specified outcomes be defined by mentor and entrepreneur at the initiation of the relationship, and the relationship concludes upon achievement of those outcomes.
What are the rules for the BizStarts Mentor Program?
In general, mentors are selected for their experience in areas relevant to the needs of new entrepreneurs and for their enthusiasm for the Program. Relationships between mentors and entrepreneurs are formed based on the needs and preferences of the entrepreneur and the interests of the available mentor. But there are specific rules to which we ask our mentors and to adhere. You can read more about them here.
